LMOM 2011 Recap

This was my 7th year doing the Lusty Month of May over at the http://asylums.insanejournal.com/pervy_werewolf/ community. I was disappointed last year at the lack of art in the competition, and I have NO artistic talent in order to fill that void. But after tweeting with one of the participants last year, I came up with a plan: LEGO vignettes. It's the only visual medium I can muster, though my photography skills are less than steller.

Nonetheless, I bravely embarked on a month of creating Remus Lupin porn using LEGO bricks. I had planned on just writing a small paragraph or a few lines with each image or series of images. But as the days went on, I found it harder and harder to not write whole fics to go along with the images. So this year I ended up doing BOTH art and writing. There were some close calls and a trip to New York and back during the month and some pretty busy days. But I still managed to get the one piece posted every day before midnight to qualify for Classic Tier 1: Stamina placement. W00t!

I also managed to completely freak myself out several times. I'd seen LEGO pr0n before in the back room at cons but I'd never tried my hand at it. I definitely didn't realize I could go to such wrong places with it, but I'm pretty proud of some of the pieces, actually. It was hard to do a whole vignette every day, and also tell a story with the LEGO pieces. I was even able to do a scene in LEGO for each one of the 6 years of stories I've written for previous LMOMs (2005-2010). And I'm not sure I can look at a yellow antenna piece the same way ever again.
