Silent Auction

Hey, everybody! My local BookCrossing group is raising start-up funds for our upcoming convention in Washington, DC. So we're doing a silent auction with some awesome themed boxes you can bid on. You don't have to be a BookCrosser to win; you don't even have to live in the US.

The boxes are really neat, and I thought some of you might be interested in them. Up right now is the Books to Movies box, where you get a copy of the book and a copy of the movie on DVD (so you can enjoy both and see which you like better). You also get movie theater-type snacks. (The current bid is $31. For 5 books, 5 DVDs, and goodies, that's a steal!)

Starting after midnight tonight, there's the Harry Potter box--with tons of great Harry Potter items including a poster I'm told goes for $50-$65 on eBay, a book autographed by Pottercast's Melissa Anelli, Harry Potter LEGO, bookmarks, a Scene-it DVD game, Ministry of Magic Wizard Rock CD, and more. Starting bid on that is $15

Some of the other boxes include a beach lover's box, baby shower box, a cooking box, a sampling of 1001 books to read before you die, a Visit D.C. box, and a box perfect for curling up on the couch and reading.
